All Absolute Power Africa generators have the option of connecting to the PC interface box for monitoring and remote control of the generator.

The system consists of a Jnet PC interface box connected to the communication port (RS485) on the generators control panel. The PC interface box is then connected to a PC either via a USB cable or a regular Network Cable.

It should be noted that regular CAT5/6 Network cable has a maximum distance of 100m before connecting to boosting device such as a switch or router.

Once connected to the network or to the PC via the USB cable, all the functions that are ordinarily available on the control panel will now be available through the Guard Evolution Software which accompanies the installation of the PC interface box. The PC interface box and software uses proprietary protocols and can only be used as a complete system. Integration into existing plant management systems is not available.

As is visible from the screenshot above of the Guard Evolution software. You are able to view all the critical information about the generator from a remote location. In addition to being able to start and stop the generator from a PC, you can view if you are running on Mains Electricity (Eskom / Zesa etc) or if you are running on generator power.

From the Software you are able to view Alarms and Warnings that the generator is displaying with a more detailed description. This useful feature will ensure you never miss a service or allow you to see exactly why the generator has shut down or why it is showing an alarm. This information is recorded on the Generators hardware from day 1 and will store up to the last 4000 events. This includes all alarms, warnings and activities.

Through the use of a networked interface box, you are able to connect the generator to your internet enabled network and monitor the generator offsite. This is ideal for remote installations, branches or on-site applications giving you as the generator owner or person tasked with ensuring their longevity the ability to monitor them yourself from anywhere.

The PC Interface box is also capable of being installed in an InSync installation whereby you have multiple generators linked together using our InSync control panel. A single PC interface box is used to monitor all the generators simultaneously (Up to 32 Generators connected InSync with 4 active monitoring windows open).
